Old Donation Episcopal Church is growing again.
When a few people start saying prayers, God can do great things. In Adam Thoroughgood's home in 1637, with a young priest just having arrived from England, Old Donation Church was established. It was more than 2 years after Adam and Sara began saying prayers with neighbors for God to do a work of blessing. They began a church known as the "Lynnhaven Parish Church" named after his English home "King's Lynn." Eventually we changed our name to Old Donation Episcopal Church (long, long history which is available on our regular web site).
More than 380 years later, we have survived fires, floods, wars, abandonments, re-buildings, recessions, pandemics, and LOTS of building projects. It is our generation's turn to continue to provide the space from which God has been and will be building God's Kingdom. We grow in SPIRIT, and that sometimes requires more SPACE from which to do God's work in the world.
If you want a quick tour or taste of our history and our young folks who live it out, watch this video. As we continue to do this particular phase of building, you'll find new blog entries describing what's happening.
